All our sessions last for 45 minutes and skate hire is included in the session price. We ask that you turn up 15-30 minutes before your session to allow time to collect your skates.
We hold a large number of skates in a wide range of sizes from J8 to size 14. We also have a limited number of bob-skates for children – these are double bladed skates which offer greater stability for our younger skaters. All skates are available on a first come, first served basis.
Bags of any description are NOT permitted on the ice, so please only bring essentials with you. We have cloakrooms available to store personal belongings but please don’t bring large items (or all your Christmas shopping) with you, as storage space is limited.
All children under the age of 9 must be accompanied on the ice by an adult. Children between ages 10 and 12 should also be accompanied by an adult but the accompanying adult may spectate. We suggest a ratio of no more than 5 children to 1 adult for this older age range.
Finally, anyone can skate on our rink from age 3 upwards, but please note that skating isn’t recommended for those with serious illness, heart conditions or for pregnant mothers to be. You skate at your own risk.
‘Tis the season to be jolly, but remember, it is also the season where it can be very cold!
Our beautiful ice-skating rink is outside and, whilst we have a roof to protect you from the worst of the weather, it is also likely that as darkness falls it’s going to get colder. Please wrap up warm and wear outdoor clothing and gloves.
Although you’re protected from any sudden downpours, there can be surface water on the ice, so if you fall over, there’s a good chance you’ll get wet! Gloves will give you traction on the ice as you get up and keep your mitts warm as the temperatures drop.
It’s also a good idea to bring a change of socks for after your skating session, skates can get wet, and no one wants to drink hot chocolate or mulled wine (it is the festive season after all) stood in soggy socks.
