This year, we are thrilled to be working in partnership with Octopus Energy, whose support makes so much of our community impact possible. Together, we are not only bringing the magic of winter to Manchester, we’re helping create meaningful opportunities for local young people and families. Thanks to this partnership, alongside offering over 2.500 children and young people the chance to skate for free, we’re also proud to support two remarkable partner organisations whose work makes a real difference in our communities. Throughout the rink season, visitors will have the opportunity to donate directly and help these organisations continue the vital support they provide.
Below is a little more about each of our partners and the impact they create:
Manchester Mind works to improve the mental health and wellbeing of people across the city. They provide 1-1 emotional support, youth services, welfare rights and advice, adult peer support groups and range of community wellbeing initiatives. Their mission is rooted in understanding and empathy, so that no one has to face a mental-health issue alone.
Snow Camp uses the power of snow sports to support young people facing significant challenges. Through skiing, snowboarding, life-skills sessions, and mental-health support, they help young people build confidence, resilience, and pathways into education and employment. Their programmes open doors to opportunities many young people would otherwise never experience.
This season, we’re proud to host a dedicated Snow Camp Skate Night, offering the rink to them free of charge. Anyone joining us between 7pm and 9pm on 27 November is encouraged to make a small voluntary donation, with 100% of contributions going directly to Snow Camp’s life-changing work with young people.
When you visit Skate Manchester this season, you’ll have the opportunity to support these extraordinary organisations. Whether your contribution is small or significant, every donation helps strengthen their work and uplift people within our communities.
Together, we can make a real difference, all while celebrating the joy of winter.
